The Tesoro’s AlumiLite construction incorporates our rigid aluminum body technology. These frames are stronger and more rigid and can withstand more pressure and torque than traditional graphite frames and provide more precise tolerances for precision gear alignment, maximum castability and ultimate durability.
The reel is built with a custom titanium spool shaft that reduces flex and weight as well as C6191 brass drive gear and pinion gear that is supported with GSS (Gear Stabilization System), which offers unparalleled stability and durability.
Building on its proven HDGII high-strength construction, Okuma has increased the size of the main gear to boost both durability and gear ratio. For example, on the Tesoro 10,000-size model, the main gear is 12% larger than a standard spinning reel gear.
Okuma engineered a fully waterproof body with an IPX7 rating—meaning it can be submerged up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Now you can fish in saltwater with complete peace of mind.
In previous designs, the up-and-down movement of the main shaft created friction where it contacted the inside of the pinion gear, which made the handle feel slightly resistant during rotation. Flite Drive Technology reduces this friction by hollowing out the center of the pinion gear, allowing the shaft to move more freely. This makes the reel turn more smoothly and with less effort, while keeping the gear’s strength unchanged.
DFD applies drag pressure to both sides of the spool for maximum strength, efficiency, and smoothness. A sealed, multi-disc carbon drag system sits on top of the spool under the Hydro Block seal, while a secondary drag unit is mounted beneath it. By pressing evenly on both spool faces, you get rock-steady stability and a significant boost in drag power. compared to traditional single drag system
